Lisa Marie & Dad, Elvis





Elvis Aaron Presley, was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. His twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn. He and his parents moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948.

Entering a local talent show dressed as a cowboy proved to be the catalyst to a musical career that was to make him a worldwide idol in later years.

Elvis graduated from Humes High School Memphis in 1953. Elvis took up a job driving trucks for the Crown Electric Company.

In July 1954 Memphis disc jockey Dewey Phillips played 'That’s All Right’ which Elvis recored in 1953 at the Memphis Recording Studio for $4. This became Elvis’ first local hit. The rest, as they say, is history.

At 9am on May 2, 1967, Elvis Presley, 32, married Priscilla Anne Beaulieu, 21,at Milton Prell's Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.





After Lisa Marie's parents divorced in 1973, Elvis saw her as often as he could and lavished her with gifts. Elvis died at the very young age of 42 on August 16,1977, at his home ~Graceland~ in Memphis, Tennessee. He left behind him his ex-wife Priscilla & 9 year old daughter Lisa Marie.
